Why Questioning?
We are learning to ask the correct question to get the answer we need.
As a class we are using the Trevor Bond questioning method.

We looked at effective questioning as a class,

Steps to questioning.

We came up with some questions about this display.
These are recorded below for you to listen to.

The class asked for the answers to be put up as clouds.
So here are the extra clouds.

We have spent most of term 2 making sure we know if we are asking a question and making a statement.
We have practiced stating whether it is a question or a statement that we are making. we have done over the whole school day.

Relevant and Non-relevant Questions:
We also looked at relevant and non-relevant questions.
A relevant question is one that is about the topic that is being discussed.
A non-relevant question is not about the topic but about something else important only to the asker.
Sometimes we asked how they suddenly thought of the non-relevant question. They always had a reason for it.
We hope to record an example of this soon.

Closed Questions:
We are looking at closed questions to help direct us to where some information might be.
Closed questions will give us short to the point answers. Yes/No or a cat has a tail and four legs.
We will share some more soon.

Questioning using the Seven Servants:
The seven servants are who, why, what, when, where, which and how.
We are going to use these term to gain more information about our environment this term.
